K. Jerry Frangas, MSW ’01

K. Jerry Frangas (MSW ’01) has worked professionally in the areas of mental health, child welfare, community organizing, program management and homelessness.  He served from 2003 through 2010 in the Colorado House of Representatives where he focused on improving health care access, reforming mental health coverage, disability rights, protecting crime victims and ensuring that government is efficient and effective in both cost and service delivery.  His legislative record includes carrying and passing a significant amount of legislation including mental health licensure, improved access to health care, protection for crime victims, animal protection and highway worker safety.  He also fought to ensure that private colleges like DU are part of the College Opportunity Fund.  Frangas credits his GSSW education as essential in helping him serve both clients and the community.
