Robert C. Kelsall, MSW ’75

With a combined total of 66 years as family therapists, teachers and supervisors, David Blair (MSW ’80), LCSW, CAC III, AAMFT Approved Supervisor, and Robert C. Kelsall (MSW ’75), LCSW, AAMFT Approved Supervisor  have had a profound effect, not only on Colorado’s families, but also on the training of therapists who will serve families in the future.  Co-owners of the Denver Family Therapy Center, Inc., Blair and Kelsall have served as its co-directors since 1988. DFTC provides mental health and substance abuse services from a systemic, family-based and strengths-based perspective, to individuals, groups and families including children, adolescents, adults and older adults.  Serving both the public and private sectors, DFTC contracts with most major managed care companies, metropolitan Denver probation and human services departments, and other community agencies.

Blair and Kelsall are also faculty members and supervisors at the Denver Family Institute, which partners with GSSW to allow our MSW students to begin work toward the Certificate in Couples and Family Therapy during their concentration year. Currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at GSSW, Blair was named “Therapist of the Year” in 2003 by the Colorado Association for Marital and Family Therapy.
